Dear educators,
we invite you to join our free online workshop “Psychological Aspects of Information Influence” which will take place on 19–20 August 2026 and will lead to a certificate of attendance (15 hours, 0.5 ECTS).
This workshop for educators is dedicated to a comprehensive analysis of how information affects the human psyche and society as a whole — from theoretical foundations to practical defence mechanisms.
The first part of the workshop examines the basic concepts of information influence, its historical development and the main scientific models and approaches to understanding this phenomenon. Particular attention is paid to psychological mechanisms — cognitive, emotional and social factors — which determine how a person perceives, processes and assimilates information, as well as how this is influenced by group dynamics and cultural context.
The second part of the workshop focuses on the practical dimension: participants will be introduced to specific technologies and techniques of information and psychological influence – ranging from classic propaganda tactics to modern methods of disinformation, the role of social media algorithms and the latest threats associated with artificial intelligence (deepfakes). The workshop concludes with a session dedicated to psychological resilience and practical strategies for protecting oneself against manipulative influence — the development of critical thinking, media literacy and resilience.
The workshop is both theoretical and practical in nature and is designed to foster both an academic understanding of the phenomenon of information influence and practical skills for countering it in everyday and professional life.
To register – please complete the form https://forms.gle/PgqMZCZ6HSYdnZpt5 by 17 August 2026. Information on how to join via the ZOOM app will be sent to registered participants the day before the event.
The event is being held as part of the project “Modelling and Analysis of Information Warfare Processes as a Tool for Defending Democracy in the EU and Countering Threats” (101238591— EUDemCT — ERASMUS -JMO-2025-HEI-TCH-RSCH) is implemented by the National University of Ostroh Academy with co-funding from the European Union and aims to address critical gaps in understanding the mechanisms of disinformation, the lack of standardised counter-strategies and low public awareness of information threats. Recognising information warfare as a growing challenge to democratic institutions in Ukraine and the EU, the project brings together education, research and cross-sectoral cooperation with the aim of enhancing resilience to hybrid threats.
